Platinum Bar

Grade & Mint:

Platinum is one of the rarest metals on Earth with the largest deposits found in South Africa’s Bushveld complex who produces 77% of the world’s platinum.

Platinum bars are privately minted by a variety of companies such as Engelhard, Johnson Matthey, and Credit Suisse among others and are available in sizes ranging from 1 gram up to 1 kilogram, however, the most common size is the 1-ounce Platinum bar.

Design:

There are a wide range of designs and mint marks depending upon the manufacturer. Platinum bars will typically have mass, purity and issuing company on the reverse or obverse of the bar.
